UPDATE: It has been over a month and the drama continues. The owner initially refused to respond to requests despite them having my house key for a month without my consent. Whenever she responds she accuses me of harassment. She has tried to dodge all responsibility for losing my house key, even claiming I signed an agreement where Posh Pets is not responsible for any keys they lose. I requested the reference (as I have missed paragraphs in the past, it was possible I missed it now). She seemed pretty happy to do so. Honestly, so was I, so I could close this drama out and block all associated contact information. However, when I checked my phone after work, I found I was yet again being accussed of being too emotional and committing harassment...all because I am not, as far as I can tell, acquiescing to her demands.
ORIGINAL: Very unprofessional. I'm absolutely floored by this experience. Multiple states and countries using pet sitters and have never experienced this. I should have known but I ignored the red flags.
Over an hour late for the first meeting with no notification. Told I would get photos/touch points (my words) every visit. [I was told at the end this is not a guarantee and she didn't know who told me that....]. Had to constantly ask for pics during every trip. This was how I discovered they forgot to feed my cats one day- was never refunded but it drove me to get some auto feeders so they would at least have dry food if forgotten again (silver lining). But then they weren't sure if they missed the day or not.
The icing was three days before leaving on a work trip, they can't get in the safe to get my house key and, apparently, it is MY problem to solve. I found this out at 8:30pm. After confronting them with their unprofessionalism, my service was cancelled, and oh...I can't get my only spare key back for a couple weeks (I rent so I can't go making random keys). This is after my upcoming work trip. Great position to put my cats and me in. Appreciate it.
I will say they did dig out some litter from some boxes when I first moved to the area, was sent on a one week work trip immediately, and thought one bag would work since I had recently purchased a litter robot. So according to PPS, because I made that mistake, it's okay for their unprofessionalism.
