So far so good - Restart is responsive company that was able to quickly come out and replace failing ac. Really happy with the new system's performance.
I contracted Restart to replace an old and failing central air conditioner (plus slightly more modern gas furnace) entirely with a heat pump system. After doing some research, I found their proposed HVAC replacement - a 3 ton Gree Flexx to be good price to performance ratio that is reasonably quiet. Prices for installation were reasonable.
Installation
Martin took his time to install the system correctly. An old unit was removed from our roof and placed more reasonably in our backyard. The work seems professional: cooling lines and power conduits were kept off the roof, cooling lines were hidden with a facade that matches the house color, new electrical lines were installed correctly with correct breaker size (previously they were oversized). It was not an easy job but I am happy with the work.
Our trusted roofer has also confirmed Martin sealed cooling lines going into the house from the roof correctly unlike previous hvac contractors (which prevents leaking). He commented that the work seemed to be done well in general. This is very appreciated, as our roof is new and expensive.
Performance
Cooling: So far we've had a few 80 degree days and our house is easily able to maintain 72 degrees inside, which did not seem possible before (our thermostat reports around 5 hours on to maintain that temp over 24h period). We have lots of windows and high cooling demands. The Gree Flexx seems very quiet: we are unable to hear the outdoor compressor inside, and the indoor air handler is also quiet and makes typical airflow nosies. The Gree system seems to provide more cooling as needed, as it uses inverter technology.
We have yet to fully test heating performance, but our house doesn't seem too difficult to heat in general - it is basically a greenhouse.
