Do not apply here. The manager is terrible about documentation, if you need an update be prepared to call about 100 times to actually get someone on the phone (don’t even bother if it’s a Monday). They will say a unit is available, or coming available, and when you call in a week after no updates you’ll be told that the apartment hasn’t been vacated and they don’t know when it will be. The application process was a nightmare, and good luck getting straight answers. Drove up to tour an apartment, had to wait hours for someone to show up to the front office to be immediately told that the unit you came to view had been rented and they just didn’t call to let me know that it was no longer available (over an hour’s drive for me). Be wise, don’t rent from this place.
I'd give this place zero starts if I could. I was warned to not move anywhere near Virginia way, however it was affordable and I was only 19 at the time, working and attending college. So here's the problem with this place..
Management is HORRIBLE. First it started with Nancy, when she was working at this location I was told I'd be able to break my lease, and only be responsible for paying back the concession (discount I received) I figured that was fair. However, Nancy moved so I had to talk to a new lady whom I think her name was sherry? Not really too sure. Anyhow at that point they changed up their story. Regardless I had to move so I put in my 30 day notice. I was told I was receive a bill in the mail, and also a deposit back. I also was told 2 weeks prior to my move out date an inspection would be done, which I requested I be there in person IT NEVER HAPPENED. So I'm not sure what they'll even be charging me for. It has been a month since I left those apartments, still no bill, no letter indicating what "damage" was done, no deposit. I have called multiple times, and the response I got from Sherry was, "Oh well you broke your lease, and I have you paper work in file, I'll have to call you back in 30 min." Needless to say she never called back.
Now let's talk about the living there, in the lease they tell you to expect periodic inspections, YEAH RIGHT! More like every freaking week inspections. Because an apartment unit near mine, had bed bugs they gave everyone a less than 24 hour notice for our units to get sprayed, and after it's sprayed you can't occupy your own home for at least 5 hours. This continued for a couple weeks.
As for the unit being ghetto I kind of figured that I mean it's Barstow, and it's by section 8. But countless nights of hearing neighbors fight, and seeing kids running around in the parking lot is just too much.
The pool, yeah it was never opened while I lived there. They had a huge lock around the door.
