Review of Super 8 by Wyndham Vancouver East: A Disappointing Experience
I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience at the Super 8 by Wyndham Vancouver East, which has compelled me to write this review to warn other travelers. As a frequent traveler and a former loyal Wyndham Rewards member, I expected a certain standard of service, especially the preferential treatment promised to loyalty program members, such as early check-in when possible. Unfortunately, this hotel fell woefully short of those expectations.
Upon arriving early in the morning after a grueling night of travel, I was informed by the front desk that the standard check-in time was strictly 3 PM. Astonishingly, I was told I could check in early but at an additional cost of five dollars per hour before the official check-in time. This is contrary to the perks that are supposed to be afforded to Wyndham Rewards members, one of which includes the flexibility of early check-in based on availability, without additional charges.
The rigidity of this policy and the unexpected fees were not just disappointing but felt like a blatant disregard for member benefits and customer service standards. It’s misleading and unfair to loyal customers who are part of their rewards program under the impression of receiving enhanced services. This kind of nickel-and-diming practice is unacceptable for a brand that prides itself on hospitality and customer care.
The implications of such policies are severe for the reputation of Wyndham. They risk alienating loyal customers, eroding trust, and diminishing the perceived value of their rewards program. If Wyndham continues to allow franchisees like Super 8 by Wyndham Vancouver East to operate in this manner, they should reconsider their affiliation to protect the brand’s integrity and customer loyalty.
In conclusion, I am profoundly disappointed with the service at Super 8 by Wyndham Vancouver East and with Wyndham’s oversight of its franchisees. This experience has not only deterred me from returning to this location but has also led me to question my continued patronage of any Wyndham affiliated property. For a company that needs to uphold a standard of quality and customer satisfaction, it’s disheartening to see how far they have strayed. I’m done. I’m out.
