This Swedish Primary Clinic used to be great but I've had bad experiences in-person and over the phone. Alita interrupted me over the phone. She was absolute rude. I had to tell Alita that I was not done talking. It would have been more polite for Alita to say, "May I please interrupt you?"
I also agree with Annie about Dr. Thomas because I have had similar experience. Julie Thomas, MD laughed at me too. Julie Thomas, MD is condescending. She made me had to be a year off of Vitamin D and then test for Vitamin D deficiency. I already I knew I was vitamin D deficient. I told her I take vitamin D supplements because I don't get enough sunlight living in WA (if you ever heard of Dr. Holick or his book the Vitamin D Solution; you will know understand.
Also refilling a prescription at your annual exam means getting a bill.
Just left an appointment with Julie Thomas and I will NEVER go to her again and I would recommend never going to her if you’re considering it because she was absolutely terrible, did not listen to me and was condescending!!! I have previously seen Dr. Walston who is super nice and awesome but he’s a relatively newer doctor so he just doesn’t have as much experience so I wanted a more experienced doctor for my current symptoms. In the last six months I’ve been really dizzy, haven’t had great balance and I noticed when I looked down and then look up again it triggers it and it’s gotten worse so I scheduled an appointment to have a doctor look at it to see maybe I have inner ear fluid problems or it could be eyesight related. She tried to push psychiatry on me, and prescription drugs for anxiety and depression. !?!? I have dealt with anxiety, my whole life, but it has nothing to do with this recent feeling I’ve been having over the last six months and why would my anxiety have anything to do with when I look down and look up I get dizzy? It’s because it was on my intake form and she saw that I have high anxiety so she tried to pinpoint it to that because she didn’t want to do the actual work of sending me to an ear specialist or evaluating me further. She didn’t listen to me, she tried to put me on prescription meds, and when I asked her about vitamins and supplements, she laughed and said those aren’t regulated and are terrible for you. She literally said vitamins are terrible for you. She also said “to me it sounds like you don’t want to be on meds, did someone in your family tell you that taking medication makes you weak” like no, not at my all. My family is incredibly supportive. Then she tried to compare me to a juvenile detention inmate that suffers from diabetes type 1 that hast to take insulin, and said “nobody would judge them for taking insulin because they would literally die so you should take anxiety meds.” Not even a comparable Comparison whatsoever!!! At the end, I asked her “if you didn’t know I had anxiety, what would you have told me the issue was?” and she said “well you probably do have some fluid in your ear, but this is definitely more anxiety related- and if you want to feel better than you can take the prescriptions” and then walked out the door…. If she thinks I have fluid in my ear, why did she not refer me to an ear specialist to have it looked at?! I felt like she did not listen to me. I am incredibly upset and scheduled another appointment with a different doctor next Monday. Long story short, I would never see her again. I just read the other reviews on Yelp (she missed a CANCER diagnosis on another patient who was likely stage 1-2 but ended up at stage 4 because she didn’t listen to him either!!!) do NOT go to Julie Thomas!!!!
I do want to say that the front desk staff here is awesome, so kind and so nice!!! And boyen yun who is a nurse practitioner is probably better than the doctors here. I saw her for knee pain several months back and she listened, was patient, provided a variety of solutions and reasons for my pain and I requested to see her to get a second opinion since Julie Thomas did not listen to me. It’s too bad she can’t be my primary care doctor.
