I meant 1/2 star at best. Definitely not a good place to come "home" to...
Current resident-going on two years. I have regretted our lease renewal every day since we signed in January. New management has taken over and if you love coming home to a notice on your door every day, this may just be the place for you!
We were told that our grill tank couldn't be stored on our back porch even though it had been there in plain view for over a year. We got a notice saying we had to keep our trash cans in our garage (not all apartments have a place for cans so if you get a corner one, your cans have to be inside your garage or in front of the door in your driveway) even though they had been near the curb for over a year. We paid rent late by one day (in two years) and were given a $125.00 fee that we had to pay. We received one notice claiming we owed money and didn't pay all of our rent. I called and nicely explained that it must be an error, we always pay our rent and was told they would fix the problem. The next month, we got another notice stating that not only did we not pay enough rent but that we owed more. So again I called and nicely explained that it must be an error, we always pay and we pay the right amount (checks and bank statements to prove it). Then I received an "urgent" phone call while I was at work, asking me to call them back as soon as possible. So I stepped outside to call, fearing the worst, only to hear an angry person complaining that we had a rug outside to which I explained, our garage flooded (for the second time) and I thought it was okay to dry it out in our driveway. Apparently this was a huge concern (much bigger deal than our garage flooding, I guess) and instead of showing any urgency over the garage, they told me to have it moved immediately. Then I got a nice sticker on my car that won't peel off saying that it couldn't be parked in front of my apartment and was marked at 9pm. Then we got a notice saying to be sure to move our cars so they could power wash our apartment on certain dates. I've never had so many annoyances and inconveniences surrounding my "home". I have also asked two simple questions with no return phone call from the office.
Also, any amenities that they have have been a long time coming and are not well maintained. The hot tub was ready just in time for summer and smells like a locker room. The movie theater was down for over 2-3 months and when they got it back up and working no one was notified. You can't park or have anyone parking anywhere that isn't an open spot but don't worry because there aren't anywhere near enough spots. So, I wouldn't recommend this apartment complex for anyone who has company or likes to do anything outside of your apartment or who may need to use their garage for storage (you'll need the room for your car/trash cans/grill). The office claims to not allow dogs but it isn't enforced at all. It appears they care more about if your trash can lid is one inch open, or left out near the street while you're at work, or if you park in front of your apartment at 9pm at night because you couldn't find a spot, or if your apartment is power washed, or if there are flowers and weird rocks around the landscaping than if current tenants are comfortable and happy.
Oh! But despite my grievances, I would definitely recommend this apartment complex to anyone with dogs who loves to overpay for housing and likes reading notices when they get home from work! Maybe if they spent more time fixing up the amenities and less time printing a ton of notices, they'd have a higher rating.
***The only good quality about this place is the maintenance man who is extremely helpful and friendly!
