“Miss Alyssa likes True! Me too!” True is the character Alyssa posted as her Zoom background for my daughter. Alyssa took the time to find out which interests or characters my daughter enjoys, prior to meeting with her. I barely frontloaded my 3-year old with any information about who Miss Alyssa is, or what she will be doing on the computer with her, however she was immediately engaged from seeing how comfortable and familiar Alyssa’s greeting felt. Their rapport was established so naturally.
My inquiry through the Tiny Babbles site was extremely user friendly, and Alyssa contacted me quickly and made the process of scheduling a screening such a breeze. Alyssa is not only professional, friendly, and patient with communicating information to adults and parents; more importantly she has an amazing gift in sharing and applying her expertise to the children. If you question how effective a therapy session could be via computer screens, then Alyssa will convince you of how positive an experience it can be.
For frame of reference, I am an elementary special educator who taught virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic school closures, and I was beyond impressed of how productive, efficient, and engaging Alyssa’s therapy was within this virtual platform.
