Horrible Experience, Avoid at All Costs!

I stayed at the TownPlace Suites in Richland and had an awful experience. First, my room had bedbugs, which is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, the hotel incorrectly entered my check-in time, despite me notifying them of my check in date several days in advance. They charged me for their mistake, and despite my attempts to resolve this amicably, they refused to issue a refund. This was hands down one of the worst stays I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Rooms are alright, the electricity outlets might be busted though. Soundproofing from outside noise from the freeway is pretty bad. Good blackout curtains. Be prepared with earplugs/long charging cables if you stay here.

I usually opt for Marriott hotels and have frequented many TownePlace Suites. Unfortunately, this particular one falls short of even an average hotel, regardless of the brand.

Positives:

Proximity to an extensive park system along the river and several restaurants within easy walking distance.
Complimentary parking.
The kitchen is well-equipped.
The bed was excellent - clean, firm, with a good selection of pillows.

Negatives:

Lack of a swimming pool or jacuzzi. The gym is small and basic. The access system is problematic, occasionally failing and necessitating key replacements (no mobile key access available).
Rooms lack USB chargers, and the bathrooms feel outdated.
The internet worked for my laptop but not my phone - I can't recall this happening before at a Marriot.
The TV channel choice was basic.
Customarily, I enjoy complimentary coffee in the lobby and during breakfast. This was the first hotel where coffee was either unavailable or insufficient for a full cup, despite multiple attempts throughout my stay, including during breakfast.
The complimentary breakfast area is cramped, and the quality is inferior compared to other Marriotts. The variety is limited, and hot items were not replenished promptly.
The server, though busy, seemed unable to manage the customer flow effectively.
Earplugs were necessary due to the audible TV and conversation from the adjacent room throughout the evening and morning.
Overall, this stay did not represent good value.
