After getting fuel at Wheelers Smoke and Gas in Mabton we had to detour around the Mabton/Sunnyside highway bridge(still under construction). By that time, we were hungry. Unfortunately, we chose the wrong day to visit Denny's (America's hometown diner), as it was filled to capacity. Fortunately, we were able to find a parking space. The staff was on their 'A' game that day and we didn't have to wait too long. Attired in patriotic uniforms, they were efficient to a fault and quite upbeat. Very refreshing! I've always been particularly fond of a dish called "Sizzlin' Santa Fe Skillet" (chorizo sausage) covered in scrambled eggs. Denny's has an extensive menu and there's something for everyone. Check 'em out y'all, pretty sure y'all will not be disappointed. Giddy up.
