I’m giving this three stars due to mixed feelings. We brought our 2 year old pit bull newly adopted from OHS to get trained, and while they did a good job of training.....they were also INCREDIBLY biased against pit bulls and the breed. They would not let my dog have eye contact with the other canine classmates, she was not allowed to interact with them, and we pretty much stayed in a corner of the room throughout each hour of training. We were even specifically told “Do NOT get another dog, you don’t know what she’s capable of yet”, as well telling the entire class that our dog was a breeding dog and fighting dog. I have no idea how they would come to that assumption, because we never had access to information like that ourselves. They were just making negative assumptions about her and her breed. Well, we adopted another pit mix from the OHS, same age, same gender (F) and everything is AMAZING! They love each other so much! So, my review is basically saying: these trainers are good, as long as you don’t have a pit bull.
The staff here is so knowledgeable and helpful. Lisa & I talked over introducing my somewhat aggressive dog to a puppy with me for a substantial amount of time. She was so patient, and gave me fantastic advice about managing that relationship to ensure success.
Having a big dog with a bit of a tude is challenging, hut I feel really excited and hopeful about my dudes progress after chatting with them, and can’t wait to start sessions to help with socialization.
